FIRE HOSE REELS

The fire hose reel is a retracting hose that is able to provide a steady, continuous water supply at a compliant output level.  They have been known to save lives and property in the event of a fire. It is therefore they are required in most Class 2-9 buildings (with some exemptions).

Fire hose reels provide extinguishing assistance in Class A fires (i.e. papers, plastics and woods). The National Construction Codes requires fire hose reels to be installed to allow occupants to undertake an initial attack in a fire event. The installation is dependent on building use/function, size of fire compartments, other fire safety systems installed in the building and the fire hazards which may be present.
